Biography Jim Gibbs was a regular representative prop in the 1930's.

Playing in the Newcastle competition, Jim played for NSW between 1933 and 1939, was a member of the Kangaroos on two occasions in 1933-34 and 1937-38.

Jim also played in the tour of New Zealand in 1935. He played a total of seven tests for Australia.

Jim joined Canterbury for a single season in 1940 where he was able to secure a first grade position and play in the final against Easts (Roosters) before returning to Newcastle.
