Biography John Peek joined Canterbury in 1972 as a lock forward. John is the father of Adam Peek.

John progressed through the grades to be a regular member of the reserve grade team. He received his opportunity to play first grade against Balmain as a replacement.

In 1973, John started the season in first grade to play every game including the Preliminary Semi-Final against Newtown.

In 1974, John missed only one game and broke Eddie Burns 1947 record for the most tries in a season by a forward with 11 tries. He played in the Grand Final against Easts (Roosters).

In 1975, John captained Canterbury in five matches before being injured to miss the finals.
