Biography John Rhodes joined Canterbury in 1968 as a centre.

Recruited from Brisbane Wests, John made his first grade debut for the club against Cronulla and became a regular winger in first grade.

He played two games for NSW in 1968 and was selected to play in the World Cup.

In 1969, John's season was ruined by an ankle injury. After making a comeback midway through 1970, he was selected as a reserve for NSW against Great Britain.

John played in the 1970 Semi Final against St George playing centre.

In 1971, John played every match of the season but another ankle injury impacted on his 1972 season. In 1973, he returned to Brisbane to play for Wynnum-Manly.
