| Biography |
Ray Beavan played 10 games for Easts (Roosters) between 1959 and 1960 as a centre.
In 1961, Ray played for Tumut and played two games for NSW as a five-eight. He gained selection for the Australian team to tour New Zealand but played no tests.
In 1962, Ray joined Canterbury to become captain and five-eight of the first grade team. He captained Canterbury to win the Pre-Season Final over Western Suburbs.
After captaining the first grade side for the first nine matches, Ray lost the captaincy to Ray Gartner and only played a few more games in the centres. |
